THRILL LEARNING AT PANPACIFIC UNIVERSITY
Here at Panpacific University, the thrill in learning never ends. Last school year, the 8th grade students from the School of Basic Education were all tasked to dissect frogs. The activity aims to familiarize the digestive and respiratory system in their subject Science 8. With the help of their science teacher, Mr. Charlie M. Uson, the students were able to successfully perform dissection.
The process was that the students needed first to paralyze the frog using the pithing tool. Followed by this, the students then started cutting the skin, and muscles of the frogs. Some students were scared at first but were enthralled by the process as the dissection went on.
More to this, sustainability and resourcefulness was practiced by the lot as instead of having to buy a dissecting pan, they crafted one using wax and a steel pan that can be found at home. Not only did the activity help in achieving SDG 4, Quality Education, but also SDG 12, which is Responsible Consumption and Production. This task was a thrilling and fun way to end the school for the 8th graders.
