PBS STUDENTS REFLECTS ON CHINA EDUCATIONAL TRIP
The 32 Panpacific Business School students arrived safely in the Philippines after their Educational trip titled Exploring E-Commerce: A Cross-Cultural Exchange Program at Shandong Water Conservancy Vocational College, China organized by the Internationalization Office of Panpacfic University, headed by Dr. Engelbert C. Pasag.
The 10-day program fostered collaboration and understanding between Panpacific University and Shandong Water Conservancy Vocational College,China. Through immersive activities and workshops, the event aimed to enrich and deepen participants’ understanding and knowledge of global e-commerce dynamics while promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning.
On the first day, the Panpacific PBS students toured around the Shandong Water Conservancy Vocational College campus and visited the e-commerce training center. On the second day they attended a lecture on traditional Chinese culture, where they experienced doing Chinese calligraphy, paper cuttings, and tea art. The third day was meaningful as students explored Confucian Culture by visiting Confucius Mansion,Temple, Nishan Holy Land and other cultural activities. On the fourth day, they had an e-commerce lecture and visited Rizhao E-commerce Centers to observe e-commerce operations.They also visited Qingdao E-commerce Centers, May fourth Square and other e-commerce centers in China.
Mikaela Orbito, a BS Tourism Management student of Panpacific University- Urdaneta campus shared her unforgettable experience on an e-commerce trip. In an interview, she mentioned that a million words could not describe how indescribable it was.Her key takeaways included insights into China’s e-commerce system and business environment, which will benefit her and her fellow students by providing foundational knowledge for their future business endeavors.
On the other hand Joshua Burgos a BS Hospitality Management student of Panpacific University-Tayug campus, commends the hospitality of Chinese students, teachers and staff for their warm welcome and assistance during their stay, despite the tension happening between the Philippines and China. He also praised the respect Chinese culture shows toward teachers.
Overall, the 10-day stay was meaningful and enjoyable. Their newfound knowledge will act as a valuable asset in their future business careers.
Lastly, the Vice President for Internationalization Office, Dr. Engelbert C. Pasag, encourages other schools of Panpacific University to participate in International programs and activities for their professional development.
