PU conducts IZN Capacity Building and Workshop

The Internationalization Office led by Dr. Engelbert C. Pasag,  VP for Internationalization, and Mr. Kristoffer John C. Panem, Internationalization Lead, conducted an Internationalization Capacity Building and Workshop on August 16017, 2024, at the 6th floor of the PCST Hall, Panpacific University, Urdaneta Campus. The two-day training and workshop aims to equip the academic and administrative staff with the tools and knowledge necessary to enhance the institution’s global presence and partnerships, emphasizing the importance of a whole-university approach in internationalization for a more cohesive and sustainable global strategy. The first day of the program was focused on sharing concepts and methodologies about major international ranking systems such as Quacarelli Symonds (QS), World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), UI-Greenmetric,Times Higher Education (THE) and the Applied HE. The sessions were interactive, with discussions, Q&A segments, and workshops that contributed to the event’s overall success.


Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, the Director for Commission on Higher Education - Regional Office 1 (CHED-RO1) was the keynote speaker for the 2nd day. In her talk about “Leading with a Global Vision: Advancing Internationalization (IZN) Higher Education Institution (HEi) " she praised Panpacific University’s active participation in international rankings, and highlighted the areas for improvement to further strengthen the institution’s internationalization goals.


The program concluded with presentations  from various schools and offices within the university, outlining their internationalization programs for the upcoming academic year, 2024-2025.
