P.L.A.Y
P.L.A.Y. Program is designed to develop creativity among lower school (elementary) students in the School of Basic Education. A learning program while playing and having fun. It aims to elevate core values through virtual socialization and collaboration among pupils and become advocates for change. Through this program, students also learn to value and appreciate artifacts and images across cultures and times. Art is important for children especially during their early development. Research shows that art activities develop brain capacity in early childhood. Art engages children’s senses in open-ended play and supports the development of cognitive, social- emotional and multisensory skills. Experience in design, art, and crafts enable them to reflect critically on their own work and those by others. They learn to act and think like designers and artists, working intelligently and creatively. They also learn about the preservation of heritage through art. This builds up children to think creatively, build confidence in themselves and their abilities, and learn to feel more comfortable expressing their feelings, reason systematically and release their potential to shape their own future.
